RETENTION II $300

This 4 hour Retention II course is meant build on the skills learnt in the Intro to Retention course. This course introduces the student to more IDPA scenario-based situations. This course reinforces the process of drawing and properly indexing the pistol safety and point shooting from the hip with a focus on moving off line of attack into other shooting positions or to a point of cover. The student uses the skills learned and puts them to use on the range while shooting various dynamic strings of fire. We start with single threat engagements, and build up to multiple threat engagements in a controlled environment. This course is suited for the experienced recreational and competitive shooter along with L.E. professionals.

Topics Covered:

  • Review of range procedures
  • Close retention draw and re-holster procedure with concealment
  • Review of malfunctions and clearing
  • Close retention threat engagements
  • Moving off line of attack

Gear Required:

  • Handgun (no .22 LR), magazines (3 minimum), sturdy belt (1.5”)
  • Wraparound eye and ear protection
  • Appropriate footwear
  • Kydex Holster & Ammunition carrier
  • Concealment Garment
  • 200 Rounds of ammunition

Experience:

  • PAL Course, Pistol II, Intro to Retention Course (unless active L.E.)
