PISTOL I / IDPA NEW SHOOTER ORIENTATION $200

This 6 hour Pistol I / IDPA New Shooter Orientation course is meant to expose the student to the proper use of pistol in conjunction with holster equipment in a controlled environment. The primary focus of the course is to be able to draw and holster safely. The student will learn foundational shooting techniques and will be required to demonstrate them on the range. The student reinforces what was learned during the class instruction and foundational range drills and will put both to use in a basic IDPA style stage earning a Holster Certificate from a recognized shooting discipline and a certificate through Patriot 613 Training Inc. This course is suited for the recreational shooter wanting a holster certificate or wanting to compete in IDPA or the L.E. professional who wishes to compete in IDPA.

  • Demonstrate the safe use and handling of a pistol, and range procedures
  • Safely draw and re-holster a pistol
  • Foundational shooting techniques
  • Load, reload, and unload safely
  • Malfunctions and clearing
  • Cover and concealment
  • Safely and efficiently deliver rounds on a target

Gear Required:

  • Handgun (no revolvers or .22 LR), magazines (3 minimum), sturdy belt (1.5”)
  • Wraparound eye and ear protection
  • Appropriate footwear
  • Kydex holster & ammunition carrier
  • 200 Rounds of ammunition

Experience:

  • PAL Course, Club level probationary shoots & basic firearms handling experience required
